Truck should have waited, but if water fowl are roaming in the street they need to be thinned out. I cant stand goose poop everywhere in a neighborhood.

While living in Ft. Collins Colorado which had a major goose flyway around it, geese were on every open piece of water around there. Now when it snowed and the roads were icy I hit several geese crossing the road when I lived there. You can't hit the brakes when driving on ice and snow and not go into a spin or slide now matter great of a driver you think you are. The geese would cross the streets to get to an open area where there might be some grass or corn still visible. Never figured out why they just didn't fly over there instead. I certainly did not go out of my way to hit geese but I was not going to cause an accident or damage my truck to spare a goose. Never had a problem from the police or the game wardens there because they all knew how the geese behaved. Also never had anybody get all freaked out and make a big deal out of it either.....of course this was before Colorado got Californicated...:)

My guess is the driver had their head buried in their phone. Thankfully it wasn't a group of kids.
Slow day in the news room it looks like. I agree that the news report is making a mountain out of a molehill, and wonder would the driver have also run over kids playing? Still a DB thing to do. Kinda wondering if the driver could be charged under some Federal law regarding migratory birds if it was intentional

It didn't look to me like the driver "sharply rounded the corner," and he or she didn't speed off. It is possible that they didn't see the geese. What actually happened and the way the news lady explained it doesn't look the same to me. Only the driver knows what really happened. Appears to me like overreaction to a bird getting killed by a vehicle. I agree with not seeing "sharply rounded the corner" and "he or she didn't speed off" but, I also never saw any brake lights. One would think there had to be some noise from all that commotion and if you weren't paying attention the first reaction would be to hit the brakes and see what is going on. IDK just an opinion. It's just a bird but still looks mean-spirited to me.

Game Wardens are really good at tracking people down and laying down some heavy fines. not sure there is a law against accidentally killing a goose crossing the street...I would not have run over them on purpose but in some neighborhoods goose population has got out of control and they have become a real nuisance.....

Just in time for Thanksgiving dinner actually. But that effeminate guy on the video is probably a vegan.

Pretty sure if anyone intentionally kills a bird protected by the migratory treaty out of season or in an illegal weapon/illegal manner, you can be charged under that treaty. They donโt mess around when it comes to the MBTA.

There was clearly a tag in the video, the Game Wardens will figure it out. Maybe it will make an episode on Lone Star Law.
