They are not over-reacting. Working in the field my wife sees (and tells me ALL about) the real true numbers in the metroplex. It's bad, REAL bad right now; far worse than last spring.
We cancelled Thanksgiving in person and instead delivered meals to my in-laws and my parents because it really is that bad.
All that said, that was my family's CHOICE to do so, as it should be! No government agency anywhere should tell me that i have to give up my rights, even if it IS a pandemic. They should trust Americans to decide what is best for themselves.
Be very careful folks, please.

No, but I have emergency alerts turned off on my phone. Heard from friends that Pennsylvania got one about a half hour ago.

Folks have to stay diligent. Gone through too much to let my guard down now. After reading CDC warning about travel to Mexico, we cancelled our 50th. anniversary trip to Cabo with family. They may go anyway, but I'm relieved to not go. I don't mind getting something I can't control, but we can at least make an intelligent effort to not get covid.

Don’t live in Tarrant county but it’s not surprising. Cases, hospitalizations, deaths, all going up. Happy thanksgiving.
