What’s the best boat for open water?

High wind and waves?

Like that ocean called tawakoni?

Don’t be smart and say a float tube or kayak?

As much as I want to be sarcastic answering you, I'll refrain.
A 21'-23' bay boat with a nice Carolina flared bow is hard to beat for a lake or near shore in those conditions.

For me I'd say/want a. 32 Yellowfin and I'd feel pretty safe In open water... But I don't have 350k grin

But on most lakes I feel pretty safe in my 22 bay boat, and it's an older low sided model 20 inch transom. I'm most northern lakes were people do a lot of open water fishing they use high sided aluminum boats vs low sided bass type boats since they are fishing for walleye and stuff in open water

I have a Ranger Angler 1880 and it handles rough water pretty well. I fish Amistad and Falcon. A Ranger 620 or 621 are nice too. A lot of manufacturers make a walleye or multi species boat. CC are nice as well Just depends on what you want and how you are going to fish.
