First met Phil several years ago fishing in deep east Texas. What a humble, modest and truly nice guy.
This truly is a huge loss to not only the fishing world, but just the world in general. They don't make many like Phil.

Dang I hate to hear that. I had the pleasure to talk with him at a BFL a few years ago. I did not know he had been ill.

So sad to hear this news. I coached softball against Phil for many years back in the day, we helped each other build relationships with some of the Big 12 and SEC coaches. I never knew he was so instrumental in the fishing world until several years later. I will pray for his family!

Hate to hear about this. Remember showing Phil around on Rayburn many, many years ago, when he first begin to fish the lake. Great guy, praying for his family and friends.

My favorite show he was on was with Zona and Zona kept calling him Coach Phil. He seemed very passionate whenever they hit a scrape! RIP, he was way too young.
