I am kinda new to creek fishing for crappie and was wondering what makes a creek worth fishing? I’ve caught tons of sandbass when they run and the occasional crappie but never fished specifically for them. Are you looking for deep pools next to brush or more shallow structures? Does the speed of the current matter? Would you say the mouth of the creek or the back waters are better? Just curious of your take on creek fishing. Any info is greatly appreciated.

wait till it gets cold like February. The crappie will be stacked in there like cord wood. Trust me. I'm just waiting on the weather to cool. not the mouth go middle and look at graph. I will try and find a photo of last year in feb. and post it middle of creek.

I have been catching limits in the creeks since halloween. I typically look for deeper bends with cover in them and either jig and bobber them or vertical jig them with the log rod. If the forecast holds for next week, every creek in DFW will be loaded.

Pardon the ignorance, but are you fishing creeks in reservoirs or creeks/rivers themselves ?

Nevermind, I found the creek fishing thread.
