Even if he don’t win how about a shoutout to Tommy for doing his thang in an Open with a fortrex and a 9” screen on the dash. That’s it. Not to say that all of the new tech and accessories aren’t amazing but a blue collar guy can still get it done without it against a field full of anglers with it. Good work!

I thought the dude had a great disposition. He was a little negative on himself, though. For him and the Hack to spend so much time in that hole and still not produce on championship day...bet they're still kicking themselves.

For him and the Hack to spend so much time in that hole and still not produce on championship day...bet they're still kicking themselves. One would argue that Saturday afternoon was not the time to look for new water as both Williams and Hackney had been in those areas for days. Especially considering how tough the entire lake had been fishing.

You can have all the new toys, but if your not throwing the right bait your done. So you need 12” graphs and 360 or livescope to fish now? I know it helps, but local knowledge and side image still works pretty good. Congrats to the guy with the 9” graph and a fortrex guess you can fish LOL!! Guess my tournament days are done because I have the same setup.

Ok this thread got me curious so went over to the bassmaster page, anyone see the bait he won on?! It says homemade spinnerbait but it looks like walmart promo spinnerbaits with a crappie jig trailer, that is just great
