Coming into the last two races of the season(double header) we were behind in points due to covid. Anyone in the top 4 had a shot. We knew that we needed to try and win both races in order to lock it up. So we put our best foot forward, and got a ton of laps in last week.

1st Race:

Out of 15 karts
Qualified P1
Prefinal P3
Final we won, P1

2nd Race:

Qualified P3
Prefinal P3
Final P3

Here's where we get screwed.

During tech after the prefinal on race 2, P1 was disqualified for his carb slide opening being too big. Tech measured it with the same tool that we have been using for two years. The dad verbally protested it, and the race director......a friend of his.....allowed him to go get a tool from one of his other buddies......and miraculously they passed.

By the time that I found our, it was the start of the final......so as soon as the final was over.....i protested it. The race director should have never allowed him to get another/uncertified tool......but he did.

So now instead of our racing and hardwork determining our season, it's up to a race committee to decide the outcome. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the Championship.

We will end up P1 or P2 for the year out of 26 drivers which is cool. And we made some killer memories.

Just disappointing.

Hope it works to your favor.

Obviously the questionable tool was sized differently than the certified one. Larger.
So unless they allowed everyone to go back and resize based on the new standard they allowed the kart in question to have an advantage.

I'm with you. They should go by the standard they set.
Sorry you and little Moto have to deal with this.

That was one of many of my points. Give us a few thousandths more lift on the carb slide as well......and then let's dance

If....
P1. Enter next year as the champion, balls out defense of your title. Take no prisoners.
P2. Enter next year with a chip on your shoulder determined to destroy everyone, especially #1. Take no prisoners.

Either way, the off season motivation will be there and next year will be a better year. Preparation and training will be you best plan. Don’t spend too much time dwelling on what might have been. Good luck to y’all.

The man gives some solid advice here.

Also, sometimes race directors be like that.

That first pic says it all. She has the “look”. Her Kart has the right amount of sticking her nose in wear and tear too.

Cheating sucks, if that’s what this is. My son played HS bball against what was later to be determined as a 25 year old man, friggin ridiculous.

I agree with the others, y’all are doing great and the lessons your daughter is learning are irreplaceable, congrats

I’m with you that you got screwed. That being said it’s a great opportunity to teach your daughter that sometimes things just don’t work out. Keep your head up and focus on all the success of the season. Then go smash them next season.

moto, either way you 2 won, the time spent with all this and the current result says you are doing a killer job.
just the fact that she has a dad that is motivated to get her this far in something she obviously loves to do (meh does not win races) is worth more than 100 first place trophies.

now, that being said, I agree 110% with hasbeen with the exception that I would add that butthead that flipped her to the list.

I would love to see a gtg of the ot at one of next yrs. races, that would be a hoot and the trash talk we could do, well maybe on that. grin
