This is a nice choice too The Montage/St Jo/Nocona area is a very unique part of Texas. Little hills, cliffs, valleys. Sort of like a mini hill country, but in north Texas with more rainfall and less heat in the summer. Obviously having grown up around that area, I'm biased to it but you're exactly right. Even down around Forestburg and going a litte east of there is really nice. The area north of St Jo to the Red River to Lake Nocona is probably my favorite area in Texas. Downtown Nocona, is something to see. If they could just find someone to buy the steakhouse and open something back up in it, I think that would have every building occupied.

If the Nocona Brewery and some of the wineries up there can survive the next five months, that would be a good start. Now, I don’t want things to get too popular up there as I’d like to relocate to that area.

I love all / most East Texas towns. But for a change in scenery Alpine is in the mix.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
