Just use one of these gunbot or ammoseek sites and look for free shipping with bulk purchases. I was going to get a hundred rounds of 9mm the other day but the damn site wanted 19.99 in shipping. That's crazy.

I normally use www.ammoseek.com

Nothing's cheap anymore, but once in awhile, different dealers will have a reasonable price for a very short time. I picked up 500 rounds of 45 Colt for $350 (including shipping & tax) not too long ago. Current prices on that caliber are $1.65/round and higher.

Good luck, I'd try and hit up some small town hardware/gun stores. There's a 45 min line every morning at our Academy when it opens. I suspect it's the same folks buying then selling it online....

I really like ammoseek.com. I recently found 500 rounds of 9mm for .50 apiece at fedarm.com using them.

I don't buy anything online except ammo for my 6.5x55. I buy Seller & Bellot with the 131 gr bullet when I find it on sale, since that is what my rifle really likes, and I always get it from Natchez Shooting Supply. But I don't buy it often because when I find it on sale I lay in 20 boxes or more.

these folks are in stillwater Okieland, never taken more than 3 days to get an order once shipped. prices were great till the wuhan flu ammo crisis of 2020.
I doubt they raised the price as they didn't back in the obie shortages, this is all supply and demand starting at the mfr.

they have a pretty good notification system too but you better be on top of it if they msg ya now.
