1 and 2 win teams making the playoffs? Must be the 2020 version of Participation Trophies. Try 4 teams make the playoffs. From where? Each district? Yes. 1st-4th go to playoffs now. A 6 team district has 4 teams go.

1 and 2 win teams making the playoffs? Must be the 2020 version of Participation Trophies. Try 4 teams make the playoffs. From where? Each district? Each district and to top it off each classification is divided into Division 1 big school and Division 2 small school. Two teams going to the playoffs started in 1984. In 1990 they started 3 teams and about 2008 4 teams. Two divisions and 4 teams started 3 years ago.

Salado Eagles Overall 9-1 District 5-0 State (TX) Rank 68 Our football playoff game for tonight was just canceled. Rusk High School has forfeited the game due to players testing positive for COVID-19 and other players having to quarantine because they came in close contact. We will advance to the next (area) round of playoffs next week and we will be playing Bellville High School. Went to the Rockdale/Columbus playoff game
Was pretty close game for about a half but seemed like Columbus should have been boat ramping Rockdale. Then the 2nd half
Columbus did boat ramp'em. Columbus has a very good running back, qb throws a nice deep ball and they have a couple of WR's that can go get it, Columbus D is pretty big
and fast Rockwall couldn't do much against them. Columbus was well coached.

Caddo Mills beat Hillsboro 60-0
I remember top 2 went when I was a kid. We had Celina, Gunter, and Pilot Point all in our district, and all 3 were annually top 10 teams in the state. So every year, one of the top 10 teams in the state got left out of the playoffs. So I don't necessarily mind top 3, but top 4 is silly.

Argyle over North Dallas 79-0 (it was 73-0 at halftime). The fact that ND was in the playoffs at 2-4 is what’s wrong with this country. I remember about 3 years ago Mt Pleasant made the playoffs with 2 wins. First round was playing Highland Park at The Star. Jerry Jones’ grandson was their quarterback. Got beat 79-2. It was terrible.

I saw quite a few 1-0 scores. I'm assuming that there was a forfeit? COVID related forfeit? Yes. Hallsville forfeited against Mt Pleasant Friday night. It was our homecoming. Moved the festivities to senior night against Pine Tree.

Yeah the forfeits are different by district. As frank stated normal forfeit is 2-0. Some districts use their maximum points used to determine tiebreakers so you see a lot of 14-0, 17-0 and 21-0 on forfeits. Our district doesn’t forfeit but declares a no-contest as if the game was never scheduled. Then we will go by winning percentage to determine playoff seeds. Weird crazy year for sure.
