I have been catching bass pretty regularly on all sides of the lake in during the day but want to try the night time bite. What area should I target? Docks, humps, flats, back of creeks? Looking for general areas and tactics. I’m usually in the Northwest part of the lake in Hickory Cove.

I think the bass go to sleep after dark on Twok.
And I am being serious,
Lighted boat docks would be best if you are going to give it a shot.

I don't know anything about that lake, but I can tell you from 1,000s of nights fishing in Tennessee that the fish are generally around the same places you catch them in the daylight ... but shallower. TOPS of humps instead of sides - Gravel or rock banks in VERY shallow water. Any place near structure that can be considered a "feeding flat" ... no cover required.

We found out the hard way that we were sometimes fishing deeper than the fish were feeding.

TWOK is known for striper and hybrid. There is not much pressure on largemouth so sometimes we can catch them good under docs and on shallow banks in creeks. I assumed Bass moved to deeper water at night so main lake humps and shallow points off main lake were ideal targets for me initially. I would like to avoid moving down the bank like we do during the day. Thinking 3/4 oz football jig, 1 1/4 oz chatter or shakey head in deeper water. Buzz bait, spinner bait for shallower flats off points. 🤷‍♂️

If you are currently catching them around docks during the day just go to the same areas at night. You have an advantage knowing what is underwater in these areas. Personally I don’t think those fish are going to move deeper at night. Might seem backward but I would decrease weight size and fish sloooow with your favorite craw worm or creature (black or dark colors). Mix in a big blade spinner every now and then, sometimes that can be the ticket.

Lighter weights tend to catch more fish after dark. A 1/4 or 3/8 spinnerbait in black, red, or purple with a #4.5 gold blade is a good starting point. A hair jig in 1/4 or even 1/8 can be deadly.

You are gonna have about 2' of water ir less to throw tgat hair jig on Tawakoni. It just fishes totally different than many of the lakes in tht area. Its a super, shallow water lake where they live dirt deep year round.

Not a problem Mark. I know this is TX and not TN, but I've regularly caught quality fish in 2' of water for many years with a 1/4 jig and pork trailer. If the fish are up there looking for crawfish it's a great bait.

I would recommend one thing to have handy, a firearm!

Not sure if I would leave my truck parked at lake Tawakoni after dark while I am out fishing for a few hours.

State Park is probably the only place I would do that.

Tawakoni is a "special" lake. It is VERY hard to catch them at night for no explainable reason. I would definitely park somewhere very safe, and target the brightest docks you could find.
