At the lake on Saturday, been running fine all day. Go to move to another spot, boat gets up on pad for a few seconds, then instantly loses power. It dropped all the way to like 700 rpm, but stayed running. Try to give it any gas at all and it would sputter and die.. I limped it back to the closest marina and I got a ride from a fellow fisherman back to the ramp I launched from. After getting the boat back home, I pull the cowling and poke around a little, I find that the power wires going to the o2 sensor are burned almost in half. I've ordered a new o2 sensor and hope that fixes the problem. My question is: Will a bad signal from the o2 sensor to the ecm cause safe/limp mode condition on the motor? or have I likely done more damage than that?

Thanks in Advance for your advice..

UPDATE:

o2 sensor did not fix issue, thinking possible fuel delivery issue now, but, I'm not gonna just keep throwing parts at it.. Any ideas?
