I have a 2011 with the 5.0 & a 2020 with the 3.5. The 3.5 pulls my 21FX boat fine. Only thing I don't like is all the down shifting of the transmission. The 5.0 does not down shift nearly as much. It has 175,000 miles and has never been in the shop. The plus side of the 3.5 is the gas mileage when not pulling the boat.

Thats because your old 5.0 had a 6sp transmission. Get in new 5.0 with the 10sp like your EB and it will shift up/down more then the EB.

So? Going faster just gets you to the accident scene sooner.

3.5 if your wanting great fuel mileage but if you are planning to tow with it get the 5.0.

I've got the V6 turbo and it's fantastic!

But it's no V8. wink

I have a 2020 3.5 EB and just got a new travel trailer that is around 6,500# loaded. That's about as much as I would want to pull with this truck, I know the truck is rated for higher tow weight but in reality that's about it for any towing over a few hours. The 3.5 is a blast to drive unloaded. I can't really speak to the mileage since I have a lead foot.

3.5 if you tow a lot... 5.0 if not

Why is it a joke? Seems pretty straight forward to me.

That weight is about all I would like to be towing with a half ton on a regular basis.. I think the motor is able to go quite a bit more weight wise than 6500 though.

I agree with this. The 3.5 with all it's torque in the lower rpm's is a beast towing. The 5.0 isn't even close. Get the 3.5L with a 3:73 rear end if you tow often, best towing option in the half ton truck market.

Straight forward? Morons saying more power and more torque. From the looks of some of those so called techs I wouldn't trust them to change the oil in a lawn mower. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Only reason Ford still offers the V8 in the F150 is because too many old codgers think a truck isnt a truck unless it has one. Both will die off soon enough.
