The temperature were a little cool in the mornings but great one the sun came up. The fishing was great start to finish with most coming on bait. Bait was a little tougher this week than weeks past. The fish still seem to want the 2.5 to 3 inch baits over the larger ones. I had a mixed tank of threads and gizzards both days and size was the factor over brand. Most of the fish caught on bait were on the river and creek chanel ledges in 30 to 40 FOW, fishing around the 30' mark. I wouldn't see a lot fish on the screen but scattered under tightly packed balls of bait. Once every one was baited and down to depth, kick the thumper on and fish would be on. For you guys wanting to lure fish try putting a 2 once slab under the birds and work back on a horizontal pump and fall retrieve. Water Temps were 63 to 64 so it won't be long be fore the dead stick bite fires off.

October is my favorite month to fish Texoma. The weather is usually great and the fish just set up where they are supposed to and seem to be a little more eager to get in the boat. I'm looking forward to some dead stick action in a few weeks. I have a feeling some big fish are gonna be caught.
