Great looking lures. What wood do you like to use. I have been using balsa with a thru wire which is, as you know, a bit of a pain. I assume you are using screw eyes for attachments/line attachment?

I make these out of bass wood, and do use 3/4” screw eyes that are epoxied in. My baits range from 1.5-3” and I haven’t had an issue with hardware. Bass wood is the only wood I’ve worked with and like it so far for everything I’ve made. You can get a lot of baits out of one board.

Well done! I did a couple of crappies in the new shape I’ve been working on over the weekend. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/05/full-38177-50115-0d76c8a9_10c2_422a_8b12_c68c64e605ce.jpeg)

I finally got around foiling a bait. First time for me to “silver leaf” a bait. I like the imperfections of the foil. This is also handmade from bass wood. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/07/full-38177-58469-25015350_842b_493a_a951_8d92143a9633.jpeg)

Resin Glide bait Balancing the lure took some work, but satisfied with how it moves Paint jobs from Rustoleum rattle spray cans and a brush ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/10/full-30144-71006-36b6f21b_4b5c_4d47_a611_6c63c5667474.jpeg)

Also did a crappie, rainbow trout, and a gizzard shad The crappie was tricky with Rustoleum rattle cans Will dust off my compressor and airbrush at some point ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/10/full-30144-71147-34e3563d_4cd6_4370_b5fe_202e2f97d418.jpeg)
