What are yalls take on them?

I was lifting some sacks of concrete over the side of a tall truck earlier this month, and hurt my upper back right in the center between my shoulder blades. Also hurt it in my chest in the same area.

So I went to a chiropractor yesterday, did some different nerve tests, x-rays, went over every injury I've had over the past 20 years, the whole nine yards and he had me come back today for his recommendation.

He wants me to come in 3 days a week for 8 weeks for a whole host of different things.

His thinking is it's scare tissue from high school sport injuries, when all of my more traumatic injuries have been as an adult. He goes on and on about it football/squats/deadlifting etc.

I need to do something since this is really affecting me negatively, but just don't know what I think about his idea. This guy has been doing it for a long time, and has worked with NFL teams so I'm sure he knows his stuff but it just seems like a lot. Is that normal?

Been there done that and only regret not doing it years ago. I go in once a month or so as needed at this point.

I have had pretty good luck with occasional visits to mine. Seems like it has helped long term.

I firmly believe in chiropractic care. I'm a proven case. You've got to find the right one. Lots are quacks but there are some good ones. Two chiropractors, one in Tulsa and one in Allen, has made my quality of life worth living. I've been down and out with lower back, bulging disc issues for 30 years. I've only found two that have helped me tremendously. The key for maintenance is stretch, stretch, stretch....you've gotta get blood flow in those weaker areas to keep everything in fluid motion.

Some people do not like chiropractic care or even consider them in the "medical/doctor" field.

I, on the other hand, am a big fan of "spine and joint manipulation."

Therefore, I pro-chiropractic care!

Extreme case exhibited in the video.

Quacks, peddling the placebo effect. The mind is powerful and the results can be real even though the medicine was not.

They do their magic poping and it relieves the pain. If you had an injury and know the moment it happened, I would bet you had a nerve pinched. If they pop the correct joint, it can almost instantly fix tbe pain. Problem is, your muscles will still be slow to respond and you may have a muscle injury related to the original injury. Do like I do and go to 3 or 4 visits. If it starts to get better, quit going. It will correct itself with out further chiropractic treatment. If it doesn't start getting better, go back until youlse faith in the chiropractor. My last chiro could not get insurance to pay him and none of my visits went aginst my deductible. He said it need to be from an accident for insurance to cover.

Good stuff when needed. I grounded a golf club and was unable to stand upright, searing pain. Went to the Chiro and he adjusted me 4-5x and magic, I bounced out of there. It scares the hell out of me when they twist my head, but it works.

I've went once. NEVER again. Most say they get you back in alignment but then of course it pops back out.

Firm believer, been going for years. To start on a recent injury I would rather have someone use their hands than one that has a scalpel in their hands. They canโ€™t solve all but itโ€™s a great place to start

Seems to me they do no harm as long as they stay in their lane. Many seem to get into things they have no training and no expertise in. I would go to a physical therapist or massage therapist before a chiropractor.

I knew a chiro. Nice guy but I really couldnt be friends with a guy that takes advantage of peoples gullibility. Not saying it doesnt feel better but all the other stuff he says it would do was outrageous.
Literally anything you told him he would crack your back, allergies, bad relationship, anxiety, high blood pressure. anything.

Whenever "chiropractors" comes up in this forum, it's tantamount to the movies "The Witch" or "It Follows" coming up in a "movie-talk forum."

Some people love chiropractors, some think they are a joke.

It's the same for the movies "The Witch" and "If Follows." Movie forum members either love them or hate them.

I love them all...

Go to a chiropractor and feel the relief, and also watch "The Witch" and "It Follows."

All seem apropos for October and Halloween!
