Heading down next week to do some fishing from beach. Anyone have any info on the surf right now, if bull reds are running. Taking kayak to drop baits out. Any ideas on a good bait for sharks that is store bought, in case we cant catch anything to use. Any help is appreciated..

I talked with Cody Davis, Green Tide Surf Fishing, who guides on Bolivar / Crystal Beach, and he was saying that the sharks have dropped off but, he is catching the heck out of bull reds.

Thanks for the info.. I really appreciate it. He didnt happen to say what kind of bait is best did he. Was thinking of using blue crab. Try and catch some.

Cody didn't mention what he was using. You can call or text him though at 409-658-3652. You might even consider have him take you out.

DJ's Bait in Crystal Beach would be a good place to get bait and get the skinny on bait, etc......

We fished today really. Saturday the 24th. Used cut mullet. 2 bull reds so far, my son bought a drone, we have been dropping them off about 500 yrds.. we just put on cut mackerel, to see if we can get a shark as sun goes down. We got cut off one bait. I bull on cut mullet and one on crab..
