Tyler caught more fish this morning trolling to find active schools and then thumping and slabbing to catch them!

Can't wait for the water temps to drop a little more. It's gonna be a blast the next few weeks.

I would try swimbaits along the edges of flats or Tyler was trolling a hellbender pet spoon combination and dropping slabs on the school when he hooked up. That worked for him all weekend.

Hey Eric, this is Tylers buddy Travis. We were fishing my boat that weekend and had great success with the Hell bender pet spoon combo like you said. Fishing in 20-30ft of water. Most of the fish seemed to be on the smaller side that time and we had trouble getting deeper down to target the larger fish. Couldn't drop the spoon down fast enough on them. Have you been having luck catching live bait lately? Im used to finding them in the platter flatts area in the spring but haven't searched for them since then. The thumper is a great addition to the fishing arsenal. Highly recommend.

Hey Travis, the Striper are pushing the shad into the coves pretty shallow. I have been able to catch them when I see them flickering on top. You have to weed through the extra large ones to get the 4” fish that I was getting the most bites on.

We went this morning, got on a bunch of them stacked up by the BC sign at Briar Creek, in about 35 foot of water. Looked like an exploding volcano underwater on the fish finder. We had caught some dinks, and 4 good box Sandies earlier. But trolled through this stack and pulled a couple 7 pounders and a 9 pounder out.

Wind was tough today so found them in Creek branches off the main lake. We caught them on smaller shad and lucked out and caught a nice box and some sandbass during some mid afternoon topwater action.
