I have had several tests. Nostrils were just fine a minute later. I fell for tge hype and figured it would be painful etc but its really no big deal.

I have had several tests. Nostrils were just fine a minute later. I fell for tge hype and figured it would be painful etc but its really no big deal. I wouldn't describe it as pain...but it burns for a few seconds...the pressure usually leaves me within 5 to 10 minutes...it took one hour one time before I could breathe right out of the nostril. There are 4 people who usually do my tests. Two must like me and the other seem to have some sort of vendetta against the inside of my skull.

I've been tested once (it was negative) when I was gong into the hospital for an out patient procedure.
My son in-law has it done every Monday but he in in the medical field and many of his patients are in nursing homes or hospitals.

If done right the swab is pretty uncomfortable. I had no real lingering effects. A couple of them I had a bit of nasopharyngeal discomfort for 15-20 minutes.
I've had 7. Some much more uncomfortable than others. Correct technique should be uncomfortable a bit. Should go deep enough to elicit a gag response which is around 4-6 inches, it should dwell in that deep space around 10 seconds while being manipulated by the tester (kinda of a twirl and circular motion), Both nares should be penetrated equally using the same swab. Of my 7 only 2 followed this procedure to the T but all but one were positive.
Yeah, the antibody test is a simple blood draw. pffffttt !
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I've had the flu a couple of times ... pffffttt ! Granted I didn't go to the doc with COVID but I did call him and get meds. I think without them I might have died and I don't want to do that yet. You'd want to get tested so you might could get some appropriate treatment.
