Is there any news on the future of this Texas lake ? There seemed to be a lot of discussion mid year about the possibility of the Parks closing & sell off of the property around the lake. I remember October being the critical month for decisions ? Anyone heard anything ?

I was there all weekend. They have signed a new 2 year lease. So the park and lake will be open until atleast November 2022

The state should buy it.

The state purchasing it would be absolutely great but guessing from the economic state of the TPWD and their inability to pay for running all the parks now I can’t imagine purchasing a 2000 acre lake and all the surrounding land would be doable even if available.

They could negotiate a forever lease. States do that pretty often to preserve parks.

Why would Luminant do agree to that when they are trying to sell the land?

I’ve never fished that lake. I may give it a try this year. Is the state park the only boat ramp?

How so? They want to sell all the land. If they signed a forever lease. How would that affect them trying to sell to an investor wanting to make a private development? I just don't see any upside for Luminat
