When installing the Peg-It slightly stretch the long end at the nose of the weight before clipping it off. It will retract just inside the nose which leaves no rubber sticking out. ........

Excellent advice Donald. Also, the same technique can be applied with the Jumbo Peggit without the head, above and below the weight. The only disadvantage to a Jumbo Peggit is the rubber is a mofo to get out of the weight when changing things up. I have to remember to take a 1/16th drill bit to the used weights once or twice a month to clean out rubber.

It is extremely hard to find honed Tungsten that just one Peg-It will hold in. The holes in these weights seems to be getting larger. We need to invent a sturdy punch with a good handle and a base to set the weight into to punch the Peg-It out.

There are really clear lakes around the country where line size really matters. Once you have to fish with 8 lb line you realize that a bobber stopper predictably preserves the integrity of the line better than the rest. I do keep some rubber nails around for heavy braid and as someone mentioned, weights above 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 oz do better with two.

Also, I’m not sure how a bobber stopper would interfere with a weighted lure coming over a branch or a limb. They are so tiny that the weight should hit the wood first or possibly they hit at the same time but it won’t be a discernible difference. There’s zero difference in the amount of force required to pull a bait over a branch, irrespective of the bobber stopper being present. But wouldn’t that be a fun experiment? Maybe a grand on the line? Ten rods and reels rigged identically except one has a bobber stopper and you have to “feel” which one it is? wink

To the OP..... With 20 pound line on in the great state of Texas, I doubt the pegging method matters. thumb

I use a hook to pull the peg it out, just stick the point in the rubber and pull it right out. I've used a few Bobber stoppers and just don't care for them as much as peg it. They slid up too easy.

Never test the depth of the water with both feet.

You can’t get em out with a hook when I pull em in there. Haha. If you could, the hook would be trashed afterwards. It takes a drill and drill bit.

You can't have any slippage. Please use your front teeth to grab the rubber and bear down as hard as possible while pulling on the weight HARD.

If you hear a crunch or crack, call the number below to make an appointment.

If you let go of the weight when you're tugging, call the number below to make an appointment.

I use bobber stops. I bought a life time supply from China a few years back. Put them up somehwere where I could remember!!!

I think I paid 10 bucks and got a box full. I looked the other day and could only find what few I had in my boat.

Thanks, Billy

I ordered me some tungsten weights and after I got them I realized I ordered ones with inserts. The holes are so small you can barely get 20lb line in the hole. Sure won’t get a Peg it in there.. I’ll be using bobber stops with them for sure! Lol

Couple of years back I thought I was getting a good eal on Tungsten, I must have bought the same ones too! I guess I'd buy a freight train if it was on sale.

Thanks, Billy
