To rub it in even more, there is only a sliver of moon tonight.
I expect to be selective in the fish I take with a possible limit.

I have the perfect spot picked out that see's little pressure.
It's going to be a happening night, can't wait.

Got skunked last night. The wind never laid down so I packed it in around 10:30 pm. By the time I got home the winds were still.
I guess thats the way it goes. Actually the wind was not the problem, visibility was nill.

Went up 61st to the sea wall before it got dark. Green water was holding around the T head of the gulf coast pier.

2112 - you should know better than that...giving flounders a "head-up" before you leave or anticipate a trip. That's a for sure going to be a water haul. Floundering to me is almost like deer hunting or better goose hunting. Your best layed plans ends up being in the wrong place at the wrong time and conditions that you THINK are great turn out to do a number on you.

I know, I've been gigging since 1965 and yes, I've been skunked and can look at the water at 9pm and it be perfect, go back ready at 10pm and it's windy and the water is like Hersey's Chocolate!

Awww, you didn't want to get eaten up with mosquitoes anyway...there will be better times.

Chris

I think I might try Dickinson Bayou tonight. Its right by the house so I don't have to go far. My secret spot was blown out so I went to Anderson Ways last night because of the protection from wind but even the protected shore line was muddy...unusual.

I don't know for sure if I'll make it out. The truck hasn't been unloaded from last night, so thats a bonus but Im pretty tired because Im playing Mr. mom with a 5 month old baby girl.
Getting sick of changing diapers and smelling formula, grossing me out!

Hey, congrats on the new baby!! If you have any kind of a West wind especially SOUTHWEST for any parts of Galveston Bay, stay home because you won't be able to see in the water...muddies it up bad and an East wind blows down it as well and increases the tide like crazy.

If you go out, good luck.

2112 - Usually spend most of my time around SLP, but am interested in testing out other spots. My Hook n' Line map indicates some spots in the Dollar Bay/Moses Lake region that might have potnetial. With your local knowledge, would you agree? Have yet to get out this season and would like a change in scenery.
