Hey Peoples... New to the Forum, and I don't have a yak, but occasionally go with a friend. We're both new to it and are always looking for something to do. Has anyone fished for stripers from the Kayak? If so what are some suggestions for a good day trip?
Thanks,

One suggestion being in a yak on Texoma this time of year is flat crazy to many boats.

I fish for stripers from a kayak on Texoma all the time .....but not much this time of year. Like Tim said, there are just too many power boats right now. This time of the year I generally catch bait, paddle into a creek or cove, drink coffee and watch the sun come up....and sometimes I even catch a few catfish. My suggestions on going after stripers right now would be: #1. Go during the week if possible. Don't even think about paddling into big water on the weekends. #2. Get up early and get bait. Shad seems to be the only thing consistantly producing right now. #3. Invest in a good quality fish finder. Fishing blind for stripers rarely produces fish. Good luck!

i yak, but i have not fished from a yak in texoma. that being said, there is some excellent fishing close in on the texas side of the lake. i would put in at eisenhower park at sunrise and fish the points. late summer the stripers stack up on that end of the lake, plus the smallmouth! yeah, watch out for the inconsiderat*&^% that will be there on the weekends.
so much water, so little time

A few of us fish Texoma frequently in the area of "the cross". We launch out of a cove nearby and head up the the point. Feel pretty safe doing so. Only problem is the fish are either there or not. Kinda hard to search for them with limited mobility. Here are a couple pics from last year's adventures.
