Just got back from the gulf coast Rockport. Ever boat ramp I went by was free. So why is it ever ramp in N. Tx. we have to pay?
and some places It's a lot . OK rants over....

supply an demand if there is a lot of them probly not as much demand if it is on private property the owner has to pay taxes an upkeep wont be long before no one will have a free ride.

You can launch basically free all over the state of Texas. Just pay $70 for an annual state park pass. I know, it doesn't sound free, but it sure is handy. I have used mine so much they are paying me to launch now!!

Ummm....NO.
State Park Pass is only good for State Parks not for all bodies of water in the state. There's 89 state parks and not all have a lake.
