Looking at a used Legend V20, would be my first fiberglass. Just found out they are no longer in production. Assuming it gets a clean bill of health, would you buy it? Not worried about the motor, being a Merc. This question applies strictly to the boat....thanks in advance.

buy it in a heartbeat, good hulls.
I looked 5 yrs. for a 95 champion 202 because it was the hull I wanted, found it and built the boat I wanted.
if it is what you want and the price works, have it checked out and go from there. legends are a good build.

"Would you buy a boat they don't make any more?" -- already have and it made all the difference. No payments, no jacked up insurance, just fishing.

I would add to the above that it really helps if you are mechanically minded and can do some of the work that will arise yourself. But, first, have the entire rig thoroughly inspected and if it passes that, take it on a lake test.
Hopalong - that is a great looking boat!

Everything but the HULL is made by someone else and those parts are still available.

I am looking for a 250 or 300xs that I can afford, got a very solid 200 xri efi on it now that is for sale. would love to be able to put a 250 sho on back, flashed of course.

Hopalong - that is a great looking boat! thank you, I did all but the carpet (lake fork boat carpet/Danny did me right) and jackplate (steve at hydrodynamics for that). this was a bucket list project to see if I could build my dream boat, I got dam lucky and things just fell in to place.

Killer Champ above.
Yes, if the boat checks out and the deal is right, no reason not to buy. Now, if you ever need a spare or replacement hull, I guess you'll be SOL. I'd expect you should be able to get past that concern, tho.

I am about to sink a ton of money into a 1983 Sea Nymph.... So I would say YES, ABSOLUTELY.
I just don't like any of the new boats. I cant seem to find one that is as sweet as what I have. I have looked and looked and the only thing I found that was close would cost 60,000 dollars and still would not be as versatile. The new boasts seem to be more focused on fit and finish/looking pretty and marketable than they are functional.
