If I prime the oil system via shift lever my Mercury 250 will go into a 2 hour break in from my research. My motor obviously has been broken in. Do I still need to obeyed by Mercs break in procedure for a new break in or can it be ran normal? I cant find this info anywhere. Thanks

No, you do not need to follow the break in procedure if this is not a new motor/power head. But you will be burning about twice the oil and could foul your spark plugs with all the extra oil being burned. Additionally, the two hour break in period is two hours under load. The control module does not count idle time or a light load on the motor as break in time. That two hour break in period can last for 10+ hours of normal use.

No other issue would arise if I just proceed as usual? I am due for a spark plug change in the next month or so anyways so not concerned with that aspect.
