Hey guys, I live pretty close to some nice bank access along the Brazos and am looking to hook into whatever catfish I can from the bank!

I was wondering if these guys (unsure of species) would be good to use as cut bait...

Also I was planning on using a 2 oz (the current is pretty strong here) bank sinker on a sliding rig with a 7/0 circle hook and just letting it sit in a rod holder with a baitfeeder reel... If anyone has better suggestions or experience I'm all ears!

Side question, what are y'alls favorite hooks and size of hooks to use?

Besides gizzard shad, green sunfish are the next best cut bait in my opinion. If the current is strong, I would opt for a 3 or 4oz no roll sinker. For bigger catfish, I prefer 8/0 circle hook and 5/0 for smaller. I use nothing but Team Catfish double action circle hooks. Check my youtube channel Prestige Catfish. I have some videos on catfish gear and catfish rigs that might be able to help you out.

Very good info here^^^^^^^
I will add that as far as that for cut bait, I have done very good using the head, hooked through the eyes-

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!
