I'm a Texas boy born and raised but my wife is from Michigan. This year we are taking a trip to Michigan durring the fall and it will be the first time I have seen leaves that aren't green or brown. I am really excited about it. Might get some time on the water too!

Starting to turn here in Alabama as well. I bet the TN River looks great when I'm fishing it tomorrow.

Come on now, man! Texas has four distinct seasons........two are green and two are brown.
Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

It's not worth 3 weeks of scenic leaves to live in Maine. I've seen it snow in October and May. Having spring, summer, and fall rolled into 4-5 months is depressing.
Just looked at the Bangor 10 day forecast and it looks pretty good. Smallies should be active.

Thanks to the Air Force, I spent four winters in northern Maine. I always thought northern Maine redundant. We averaged 140 inches of snow per year. I have seen temps as low as -47. Not wind chill...temp.
But the worst thing...biting bugs. Black flies, no see ums, deer flies, etc. they have mosquitoes that can stand flat footed and have relations with a jack rabbit.

Been to Maine several times, always in Sept or Oct. Beautiful scenery, lobster on the coast and blueberry pie in the north. Caught a land-locked salmon on a fly in a beautiful river - that was cool.
