Ive lived here for 15+ years, and was wondering if Grapevine has ever had a fishing barge?

There used to be a barge at Clear Lake on Grapevine years ago.

The Grapevine fishing barge was in the slough just south of the dam, where the marina is now. I fished there from when I was a little feller until 1989, when the flood took the barge out.
I learned how to fish for buffalo from a blind man who was there every day. In it's heyday the barge had a grill and served great food 24 hours.
The flood in 1989 also created the big lagoon across the street from the emergency spillway. The lake went over the emergency spillway by 3 feet. It was something to see.

Past performance is the best predictor of future behavior...

Twotoes - was that the same time Lake Arlington spilled over onto the golf course? I remember that flood and it was un-real...1989 sounds about right but wasn't sure.
