Haven't seen it mentioned in here, but it has to be the easiest way to catch shallow water channels there is. Love my slip bobber fishing mornings.

I have only fished in spring and summer months so I cant vouch for fall or winter, but I have always found that I do best with a slip bobber in the summer months at night when the water gets hot. Bait fish start to pack into shallow water once the sun sets and thats when the magic starts.

We used them today on Lake Amistad. Did well on Channels but didnt take any pictures. 50 degrees at launch became 90 degrees when we headed to the ramp. 3 foot up to 8 foot.

Is spring the best time for a slip bobber? I use them in the middle of summer. Especially in heavily shaded areas, usually in 3 to 6 foot of water.

why couldn't you use a slip in 10-15 feet over a bait pile? Or however deep.
I use a slip cork in 30 feet for crappie. Gets a few more farther from the boat.

I use a slip cork in 30 feet for crappie. Gets a few more farther from the boat. No reason you can't. I just use them primarily in shallow water
