Not sure what I've seen online is what I need so asking those more experienced than me.
What do I need to grind down a couple of red bricks that interfere with the door when it gets hot? Don't care if it's an actual grinding wheel or a cut-off wheel (can cut bunch of grooves and chisel rest out of the way).
Cordless grinder/cut off tool, 5/8" arbor, 4-1/2" disc.

That or circular saw with masonry blade unless you have a tile saw with water and a diamond blade.

4.5" grinder with a diamond blade for brick or tile. they aren't all that expensive and will whoop arse on the brick, and they cut dry so no water. wear a mask and social distance about 2.5' from the grinder. these work too, buy at least double what you think you need though, diamonds are forever. https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-...-Masonry-Grinding-Wheel-DW4524/202579905

Are you sure it's the bricks ? If it's happening only when it gets hot it might be the (wooden?) door swelling . Do you have a glass storm door ? My front door tends to stick if I leave the glass on during hot weather .

My front door tends to stick if I leave the glass on during hot weather . Yup, they're bricks, very attractive "rough-looking" red brick walkway out the south-facing back door. Door is aluminum storm door, expands enough with direct summer sun it gets hung up on the brick ridges.

Man that seems like the extreme fix. Check the hinge side of the door for anything loose, out of alignment, or stuck in there, before you go cutting bricks. I've seen people attach hinges to doors that were prepped wrong and just roll with it.

If you're convinced to do something with the brick, just get a masonry blade for your skill saw and shave them down a bit, really easy to do.
