With cooling air and water temps, rain, incoming water and lake rising around 4ft the fishing has really caught fire! Fish are very hungry, If you find them they will bite.
With that being said finding them can be the tricky part as they are moving very fast and not usually pulling up in the same spot 2 mornings in a row. Side scan is your friend right now, over the last 3 weeks I’ve caught fish in 2-42 fow.
Changing almost over night what depth they prefer. Oxygen levels are high in the whole lake so they can hang out where they please.

Live bait has been king but we’ve also been catching on pencil poppers, spooks, and magnum spoons.

Just a friendly tip for everyone, I do best when I fish away from the other boats. And I try my best to do that every trip. Just because you see a bunch of boats togather doesn’t mean they are catching and if they are the fish won’t stay long.
What happens daily is 2 boats get near each other a 3rd assumes they are catching and then the domino effect happens and there’s 17 boats on top of each other usually not catching. This might not be true about the catching on other lakes but not Whitney, I’m on the water 6 days week typically.

I think you will be pleasantly suprised if you do some searching and find some unpressurized fish, chances are you will catch your limit plus some .

If your wanting get out on the lake and whack some fish give me a call or text at 817-983-8750, I don’t get on here often to see pm on Tff.

Great looking fish, and really appreciate the report. You mentioned live bait, the wife and I have been on Whitney several times and have had fair results. My problem, I can never seem to find shad. Any pointers on getting live bait? Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Catching good bait can be the hardest part of Striper fishing, with that being said most creeks and pockets will hold shad almost year round. Just have to scout them just like fishing.
