When the water temperature drops to 75-80 degrees and you start fishing more of a fall pattern, does the air temperature make a difference? For example, this evening will be almost 90 degrees again clear sunny skies.
Just curious if that changes things for you?

I can't catch fish in the fall. It gets better after turn over, but every fish in my lake is in 1 giant school right now. They have learned what my boat looks like and when I get near them, they move.

Cooler surface water will push the Bass to the back 1/4 of many coves with solid creeks. Look for lakes with high water, lots of bushes and heavy cover near the back. It will only get better in the back during the Fall because of the cooler nights. Yes, the surface will warm up a few degrees; but the fishing will only get better the farther you go. Most are thanking about the Shad immigration and many times will fail looking for that pattern. Concentrate on the Crayfish patterns during Oct. and Nov..

Yep itโ€™s been good out there but this evening it sucked. Gave up about 7 and caught sandies instead. Not one black bass this evening. Wind was bad.

I fished this morning and it was tough. 75* water temp. Lost one frog fish, the only blow up I had. Caught one a rig fish. 5 on a rattle trap. 1 on a brush hog. All small fish. Shad were in 10 to 15โ€™ of water when I found big schools. Need a good cold front with some rain! That will kick start those shad and bass going back in the creeks. Iโ€™m ready! Lol
