I've never done shredded chicken in a crock-pot until a few weeks ago. My neighbor said to put chicken breasts in with a jar of salsa verde and some salt and pepper. I was out of salsa verde, so put chicken breasts in with a can of Rotel, salt, pepper, red pepper and a few sliced garlic cloves. My recipe was pretty dang good. Last week I tried the salsa verde recipe and it wasn't as good.

Anyone else got a good crock-pot shredded chicken recipe?

My wife does two chicken breast and regular salsa. Pull it out and use a mixer to shred it. We wrap in a tortilla and it’s great. We’ll try your way next time.

My son does it and it is awesome.

little olive oil, 1 can enchilada red sauce, 1 small diced onion. 2 chopped green chiles, 1 japelano, 2 or 3 chicken titties. (depends on size)
slow cooker. cook. stuff into poblano peppers with shredded taco blend cheese, coat in olive oil, roast until peppers are tender. I have also done in smoker.

My wife does this - chicken breast, rotel, sliced onion and sliced bell pepper and cook till chicken is pulling apart. Put it in a tortilla with sour cream and salsa. Good stuff.

You can add some cream cheese to it, or take the cream cheese and chicken breast and smoke them for 20-30 min around 200 and it will add a depth of flavor to it.

4 chicken breasts.
A jar of salsa
Green Chiles
Can of corn
Can of black beans.
Old El Paso taco seasoning. Anything other than Old El Paso is for Qs

Crock pot the hell out of it.

Not a fan of chicken breast in slow cookers....always comes out stringy and sometimes dry.

I usually use bone in thighs and the bottom bits of salsa jars. Easy and delicious.

True about chicken breast, but it is healthier. Chicken quarters are good, try chipolata seasoning, thank me later...

I do like you did if I'm shredding it...If I'm using Salsa Verde or Guacamole Salsa (both made by Herdez), I cook chicken thighs for about 3 hours on high, drain it a little, add the salsa verde or guacamole salsa, add some cubed potatoes, season, and cook a few more hours..greatness.

I like frozen chicken breasts and a little chicken broth if I'm doing that in the slow cooker to keep it tender and moist.

Packet of Ranch dressing
Packet Au jus gravy
Stick of butter
Throw in some pepperchini peppers with some juice

Set it and forget it!

Insta pot chicken is better than croc pot.
Really is the only thing I like insta pot for, but it is awesome. And only takes about 30 minutes
