Forgot to ask. Would it be worth me bringing my Jon boat to Matagorda?. I have a 16’ extra wide flat bottom with a 40hp outboard.

Show respect to other boats, enjoy every day and every bite on the water you never know when it’s going to be the last.
Keep a tight line and hook baited can’t catch ‘em on credit.

Do you have a galvanized trailer? If not, then hard no. A painted trailer will start rusting away as soon as it touches salt or brackish water, and there is no way to stop it.

In your other post you said you were staying on the river. If you are far enough up the river a steel trailer may make out okay, but you are taking a risk.

Thank you so much. It is a painted trailer. I’m trying to get in the most fishing while I’m there. Got shot down on surf fishing because I have 2wd. It’s our first trip there. Looks like it’ll be more of a learning experience. All I know is the place we’re staying is close to a boat launch. Not sure how far up that puts us. The boat stays home. Again thanks so much for saving my trailer.
