Haven’t seen many post lately on sandbass action for RC. Know Bobbis out with shoulder and Royce and Adam are cat fishing a lot right now. Planning a trip down Friday-Sunday and was wondering if there was any input to be given. Areas of the lake. Times of day water depth etc to concentrate on. Made investment on new MAL lures and anxious to see if they live up to what I have been reading about. Will most definitely post findings. Haven't seen many folks fishing the Main Lake for Whites since the Labor Day Holidays. We have been doing the Catfish up the Creeks and haven't really looked for the Whites due to the fact that the few folks I've heard of fishing for them have been skunked. Last few years the Whites have done their disappearing act in late September and not shown back up in any numbers till the Spring. Based on the good numbers all Spring and much of Summer, thought this year might be different. Good Luck and would really like to see a post if you find them.

Billit, I had a chance to fish with bob yesterday during a sonar training course. I had been doing OK with the MAL on topwater bites but so far had not done any vertical presentation. He quickly taught me the basics of that lure and when I got it after a couple of trys it became clear that the right method is essential to success. You should be able to see your lure on falling on your color graph. when the lure hits the bottom, get the slack out of your line without lifting the bait from the bottom. With the line tight , hold your rod steady and take one quick turn of the reel to start the blade spinning and then use a slower steady retrieve the rest of the way. I was jerking the rod tip up at first to get the blade spinning and would have the bait well above the fish before it started to work. With Bobs coaching I was able to slow down and give a steady presentation that was immediatly effective.

I'm going up the Richland Creek and fishing near Crab Creek. The Range Cubes sink.

I looked for Whites today after Catfishing and found LOTS of Schools of small Whites on Main Lake Points in 15'-30" FOWYou catch about 10-1 Small Vs. Keepers.

Fishing today was tough. No keepers Sandy’s fish everything on the south side of the lake. Tomorrow may go north of two 287 bridge and Try some uncharted waters. Very rough day.

For what it is worth, the bigger whites on Belton have moved to the deeper water structures. I suspect it is the same on RC. Look for humps and drops in the 45 to 55 foot range. Good luck and tight lines.

It's interesting how fishing white bass is different on different lakes. On Cedar Ceek, which is close to RC, we are finding plenty of white bass on shallow (12 to 16 fow) structures and using a #2 Mepps on a horizntal presentation off the bottom to catch them. Number 4 Mepps and MAL won't hardly catch any. This is true also for Tawakoni.

I fished Belton today from 3:30 to 5 PM in 49 feet of water and caught 40 keeper whites, 2 keeper hybrids and 1 13 inch catfish on MAL lures using a thumper from J Bobo.
