Any of you guys know if there is a boat ramp below the Falls at Marlin? Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the boat ramp at the Marlin Falls Park is above the falls. I am wanting to fish down stream, and I don't want to take the boat over the falls. If you know of a public access ramp below the falls I would sure appreciate the information.

Thanks!

Yes, the boat ramp is above the falls. What type of boat? A few miles down is Highbank. There's a sort of dirt ramp there on the west bank. Take FM 2027 all the way to Wilderville (there's a T) and turn left. When you hit the bridge over the Brazos you're in Highbank. I make no guarantees. That's a very sketchy launch at best. I've done it a few times in Jon boats, wouldn't try it in a nice bass rig.

Wait a sec! I think when they fenced off all the previously public access to the river they moved the ramp down stream of the falls. I'm going by there in a couple days, anyway. I'll check and get back to you.

Funny fact, I've driven a car across the falls from one side to the other.

Thanks for the info, Slow Drifter. Did you ever make it down that way? I have an airboat, so the water depth and condition of boat ramp are not that big of deal. I can launch on dry land if necessary. I just need a spot that has public access all the way to the water.
