How do you think red wigglers would work as crappie bait ?

Knew an Old Timer that would fish like that, fish EM with a jig head. Will keep the smaller sunfish from gut hooking inhaling them worms...
I'd Tack That!!

Little man threaded a nightcrawler on a treble hook years ago on a brushpile and said he was gonna catch a 2 pounder! I laughed and said he was gonna catch a brushpile! Sucker caught a 2 pounder! Only crappie I've ever seen caught on a nighcrawler and it was a 2 pounder! True story. He still reminds me all the time! I quit trying to correct him anymore on the water! Just leave him be!!

I caught one on a crawler once with a bobber trying for small cats or bream.

I've caught them on everything you can think of. Worms, soft plastic jigs, feather jigs, minnows, small shad, even a crankbait.

I've used night crawlers on a jig head instead of a soft plastic. Wore the crappie out on brush piles that day.

I have caught a lot of crappie using Night Crawlers. I do however prefer jigs and minnows.
