I haven't had one but need to.
A good purge may be good and I've never had anesthesia, but it looks like a fun trip.

Well I have had 3 Colonoscopies plus the last time I also had a Upper GI scope at the same time . The only problem I had was that they got the procedures out of order and I woke up with a sh!tty taste in my mouth.

used to be a warm water enema, do you really want a "choice"?

They do that now too. Wife has done both and prefers the enema.

I had my 5th one back in February. With a family history of colon cancer, and watching my Mom suffer through it, I get one every 2 years. I don't remember the name of the prep this last time, but it was so much better than in years past. After drinking the 2 little bottles, "it" hit me pretty hard a few times, then tapered off. As far as the procedure, just consider it a real good nap.

I had my 5th one last year. My mom died of colon cancer. Went to her liver before she knew she had it. 3 months later she was gone. In 3 months she withered down to practically a skeleton. Terrible to watch, even worse for her.
Get mine every 5 years. I can honestly say that the only prep that gave me trouble was the first one.
Had to drink a gallon of a sickening sweet cherry solution in a short time. Never did finish it.

My after procedure ritual is to go to WhataBurger and get a double cheese burger. Never an issue and I have had 6.

Prep was a mess roflmao Other than that not much to it. Actual procedure wasn’t a pain in the arse like I thought it would be. Very good little nap while they did their work. It damn sure beats finding out you have colon cancer on a dr visit.

Good grief, quit the whining. Some of y'all are big babies. Probably the same ones who gripe on here about folks that take the easy way out of things. The test is not intended to be fun but it is very important. You sound like my 6'3", 250lb son-in-law whimpering about a needle. It ain't that big of a deal. You've experienced worse after a bad night on the town. Suck it up.

I have had 6 because of double fanily history- grandpa and Mom. Dr. Lacey in Grapevine put me on Suprep for the prep last time and it wasnt bad-and worked very well. I ate lots of green Jello and because of the cleanout and being thirsty and hungry my blood pressure is always high when in prep at the endoscopy clinic. When you see the assistant with a gloved hand loaded with KY you know your memory is going away for a while- thank goodness! lol
