I haven't read all of these posts so forgive me if this has already been said; there is a YouTube video of a guy showing a battery operated alarm under his boat cover with a speaker inside his travel trailer. If someone moves his boat cover it goes off. He can even speak through the alarm to warn them.

The only difference between a little girls scream and a warrior's battle cry is the direction your'e running!

A 10yr old thread? Lol. The thieves could have been caught, prosecuted, served their time, and back out by now.

Really asking questions about something so old. Too much time available to look that far back.

Sure this is an old thread but all those involved will remember if the thieves got caught. I'm sure the memory is still fresh in victims mind. The point in my post is this. There was surveillance camera footage that supposedly captured the thieves in the act. Previous posts stated that the footage or still pics from the footage was going to be posted so all could see and possibly identify the subjects. That never happened. So, why not ? If I was the owner of the footage I would have made darn sure I posted it, especially out of respect for the victim.

Stumps and Lightning. With a bit of planning and good judgment both can be avoided.

Maybe Dateline or 60Mimutes will run a story on a cold case.

we got a new sheriff back in 12 or 13, right after I got my place on fork.

if there is any thieving going on it is very little now, I remember back when folks were getting hit on 17 while weigh in happened.
not nearly as many tweakers it seems too.

Well, he's gone now and they voted in another good ole boy...………

I also believe that they made a big arrest in OK (?) that they believed had ties to a lot of the thefts here.

I take all of my rods inside and along with my most expensive crankbaits and terminal tackle. The thieves want rod/reels- they get more by pawning/selling them separately than as a combo. If you do this leave the rod compartment unlocked and when they see it's empty they'll move on to the next victim. Thieves don't want to "work" for their quarry and will always take the low hanging fruit.

Also Lake Fork is not the only place this is happening. We just report and inform anglers through the forums to educate guys to clear their storage.
My question is where are they marketing these stolen items and who is buying them.

Check Canton 1st Monday, of course the pawn shops.

My tool box was broken into at the 515 East ramp back in July. They seem to be trolling all the ramps and marinas. I hate a thief . Hope they catch them.
