Just a slightly different perspective(story) on an age old story(argument) that I had personally not run across.

Very interesting video. That is a picture I have not seen. That fish had a huge mouth . Thanks for sharing.

May want to take a nitro tab before you look at the price of Mr. Babb's book on Amazon. If anybody's interested I found it on the Whitefish Press website for $ 19.95 + shipping. Figured I would need some reading material this winter.

Enjoyed the video.

That pic of Mr. Perry holding the fish with the mouth pointed at the camera has been circulated for 40 years. The fish doesn't look anywhere close to 20# in that pic to me. The most compelling pic of all to me is this one. This is the most recent pic to surface about 10 yrs ago. A family member confirmed the man holding the fish in this pic is not George Perry.

Then there was the time the next world record was believed to have been caught on a Helicopter Lure laugh https://youtu.be/l9kjiYsFtso

Article I wrote a few years back on Perry's fish. I do not believe the story.

Agreed. Not likely that it ever happened.

Read your book BTW ....... Great read.

I’ve always been a skeptic of the Perry story, but it is a weird coincidence the top few bass since then have all been within a few ounces of it’s weight ( with the exception of the time Dottie was snagged, but that’s not a certified weight). If he made up the story, how did he guess a weight that seems to almost exactly the upper limit that nature can produce?

Lucky. And btw ... those fish you referenced were Florida strain fish that were stocked into a very suitable environment. Northern strain in a Alabama pond is a whole different story.

I don't have any evidence that he didn't catch it so I don't see any reason to claim it didn't happen.
