Don't do it!!!!!!
Take a break for a while- Nothing wrong with that! Or go bream/crappie/carp/catfish fishing just to do something different! Or try a fly rod for bass.

I’ve been there w the funk. It always ends up costing me $ cause I always come crawling back. Been through 2 Rangers, 2 Legends (still miss my white LE 21), and an Xpress DC 21 since getting out of college in 2002. This time I bought an Xpress X19 and rigged it up nice w an Ultrex and twin HDS 12s. If it rots under the barn, that’s fine. But when I get the urge, she’s still there!! Good luck
It's only a good cast if you catch a fish... Personal Best: 11.62 lbs

It must be one of the new COVID-19 symptoms. You can store your boat and fishing tackle in my garage free of charge until you get over it. I will keep your boat in top operating condition.

Like Bassmanrudy said above, when I get tired of bass and need a break, I force feed carp and gar some arrows.... Lots of action and a big change of pace for sure!! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/09/full-107507-66539-432de149_1e03_4140_bcda_d9be843c62be.jpeg)

When I can't get on bass, I'll go pick up some white bass instead just to get some fish on.

I get burned out from time to time, but have never thought about selling my gear. I know it’s only a temporary feeling.

good stuff right there!! Gonna keep you covered in prayer! Remember the devil is a liar! We ALL go through seasons of uncertainty BUT don't give up!! Like many of these Anglers have advised: take a break and know there are many of us who will keep you lifted up, standing in the gap - With "lines in" HOPE in hand 🎣
Prov. 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In ALL your ways acknowledge HIM and HE WILL direct your path 🙏

I did this about 5 years ago...not because I was in a funk, but because I changed careers and just didn't have the time. It was hard watching part of my paycheck leave my account each month and hardly ever going out on the water. I honestly thought I wouldn't be coming back to fishing any time soon - so I sold every last piece of tackle I owned.
I recently got back into it and I'm trying to stock up on things again. That part is definitely expensive, but at the same time - I'm getting new stuff and since I can't buy it all at once it is forcing me to focus on certain things with a limited amount of tackle so I'm learning a lot. And it feels great to almost get a fresh start with a fresh outlook, new ideas, and new baits/techniques to try.
So for me, it ended up being a good thing for the most part. Maybe sell the boat but keep the tackle and try to hook up with someone whenever you get the itch...that's about all I can recommend if you aren't entirely sure what to do.
