My daughter and SIL just bought their first house and are looking to get the basics. Laundry room has hookup for both gas and electric dryer. What are your recommendations from experience? We've only had electric. Thanks.

Plus it will dry the clothes better.

I've had both. Last house was gas and new is electric. Been using the electric for a couple years now. I would go with gas if I had both options. The gas seemed to run hotter and dry the clothes faster. I had to work on the gas dryer a couple times over a 10year period and it was very simple to work on and replace a few parts. Haven't had to work on the electric one yet so not sure about the ease of it.

Electric, no gas residue on your clothes.

Natural gas is the way to go. Runs on 110v. Drying time is a little over half of what my electric dryer was. Gas is cheap, too.

I grew up with a solar clothes dryer.

We have a gas dryer in our house. Way better than the electric we had in our rent house.
