52% of 18 to 29 year old's are still living with one or more of their parents.
This number surpasses the previous record of 48%, which was set in 1940.
The lowest percentage of 18 to 29 year old's living at home was 29% in 1960.
Worthless, but Interesting stats. I was YOYO (your on your own) at 17 by choice.
What age were you when you flew the nest for good?
Okie by birth, Texan by choice. USAF "Thunderbirds" Alumni 1985-1989

18 for me, never looked back.

21.
But now at 50, I'm pulling my parents out of the prisoner camp of a retirement community and moving back in with them in me. Moving to the country. They were gracious enough to get me through the first 21 years (with out killing me) and I will happily help them through their final years.

I left home at 17 and have never been back.
Those recent numbers are inflated due to COVID too. Not an excuse but it's the current reality. I know a few who had to move back in with their folks temporarily due to lay offs or other transitions.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

26 for me. I waited 5 years before entering college outta HS and then graduated and moved home for the summer. Grandma died and I moved into her house until I met my wife and we got our own place. My daughter is 25 and still living with us......and her stinkin' meowing cat! All I know is that I have softened over the years.

I moved out at 18, had a lowlife room mate who decided not to pay rent. Moved back at 19 for 6 months, then out permanently

18 for me. Graduated HS and moved out that weekend. I had about a day and a half to get things lined out at my new place, and left for a 30 day hitch on a drilling rig in the Oklahoma panhandle.
