I just hope the fishing will be good, like to see the red become more regular on other trails.

The fact that this is real should stop Amateur trails from going there.

That's a good point...

I did fish it a couple of times and didn't officially lose a lower unit, but it popped not too long after the tournament. I was good to the boat out there, only ran the main channel of the river in pool 5, and trimmed high and slow in the backwaters. What is it about the river that kills them, moving sandbars in the backwaters, people running "trails", the floaters, or wing dams?

Alot of guys see open water and assume it’s clear. The river is full of sandbars and stumps. The only place you should run wide open is the main river but with extreme caution. The floods have removed most markers so you need to run the middle of the channel and backwaters should be idle only.

Yeah "trails" get a lot of people in trouble on the Red... Just yesterday on the Red I was idling kinda fast between stumps that had "cones" on top so usually that means CLEAR water. Wellp that was a big NOPE as there were several big stumps just below the water that would have gotten me good. :-( and like mentioned earlier a floater moves wherever so have to be careful. The red and green channel markers can't be relied upon right now that's for sure.

I hear the same stories about Fork, Palestine and other lakes too though.

Idle it then run it. Works out normally
