HDS Gen 3. No settings were changed when this started happening. Tried messing with surface clarity and noise rejection settings after the fact but it still wasn’t right. Any ideas? ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/09/full-101803-65366-332ea8c0_0cd7_457c_8273_fefcb9b0769c.jpeg)
If you can't find em wind em.

Any hard bumps to the transducer recently? Any trauma to the transducer cable?
My transducer and cable received some trauma a while back and ever since, will do something similar from time to time. What I do to fix it is to manually set the depth at 5ft when in 5feet or less or 10ft if in10ft or less, and it’ll go away, then I change it back to auto depth.

My Carbon at the console has started doing this the past few weeks. I think water temp may be causing this.

If you can try another transducer and see if that makes a difference.

If you can try another transducer and see if that makes a difference. If that’s what I gotta do I’ll just update the electronics while I’m at it.
If you can't find em wind em.

Mine does this as well. When the depth gets over 8 feet it will start displaying depth again. My front unit does not do this. Both are Lowrance.

I think you need to set your settings to either freshwater or shallow water

Your only in 10' of water. Switch to the 83 kHz transducer setting and see if that improves your view.

All three pictures look pretty bad compared to my Gen 3 and Gen 2s. You need to check your transducer and check for interference.
Upgrading your units simply because your transducer failed is like buying a new car because your tires are old.
Compare another transducer, just plug it in and drop it over the side. If it has the same problem, you probably have interference and it likely won’t go away with new units.

Oh and don’t ever use 800 kHz unless youre fishing deep in the ocean.
