I have mighty mule. Had to buy a whole new gate arm last year because the motor burned up on mine. The gate I have is a bit heavy and it could have been installed much better than it is.

I can hardly use a hammer or a screwdriver so doing it myself is out of the question.

I bought a nice brand gate opener and it has worked great so far. Price on nice vs mighty mule were close but the nice looked a bit heavier built. Barksdale fence company installed mine and sells them as well.

Call Vmag in San Antonio for their gate opener. (I have no idea how much they cost, probably a lot but they are awesome)

If you buy a Mighty Mule kit, make sure and get the HD unit.

I think that is a built in feature. I put mighty mule openers on my double front gate. One arm went out after 5 years, the other went out after 6. The first one failed because the arm filled up with water (spider plugged the drain hole) and it shorted out the card.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

They just came out with new models too. Would have been nice if it lasted until the new models came out.

We have a Mighty Mule. I had some problems over the years till I replaced the arm with a refurbed heavy duty one. That was maybe 4 years ago. No problems since. The MM customer service guy suggested the refurbed unit because of the much lower price. Was a good suggestion.

On my second Mighty Mule. This one better than the first. 360 I believe. On solar with a full size marine battery. The first one I believe was a 350 and I used a lawn tractor battery. That didnt work.I installed them myself. Welded one piece of square tubing to the gate for the attachment.
