Getting harder to find parts for the old Johnson Faststrike. Looking at the Mercury 175 XS Pro. What are your experiences here?

I'm in the same situation, 92 FS 150 and 481VS looking to either rebuild bottom to top for $5500 and 2 year warranty outboardrebuilders.com in toole tx or buy a new 4 stroke for $15K.

I’m going to run my 1996 Fast Strike till it dies. I’ll decide on the choice of rebuilding then. So far parts have not been an issue but we will see what the future holds with no more Evinrude.

$5500 to rebuild a $2000 motor. Sounds like a bargain.

Just replaced my starter drive and stator only to find out my fly wheel has a broken magnet and a couple of bad teeth on the fly wheel. New one is 1300. Going to run this one until it quits and hope it doesn't take out my stator.

If I end up scraping mine, I'll give you a great deal on any parts off mine.

Nice offer. It running fine just hard to cold start. After the first start of the day it acts like nothing is wrong.
