I was going to take my 7 year old... A quick way to learn how to bass fish on Squaw.. Oh well we will find another lake.

They breed safety every day with safety meetings, I doubt very seriously they will even be opening in January.

Bad news. My son has finally hit an age where he's interested in getting to fish and I was really looking forward to taking him out there and letting him get used to a bite without him losing too much interest too fast.

Covid has become the greatest excuse in the history of the world. Anything a government entity, business, non profit, school, individual, postal carrier, etc doesn't really want to do anymore.....just blame it on Covid and stop doing it. Personally I would rather just be told the truth. Everyone knows that Luminant has been wanting to shut this lake down again ever since it reopened after 9/11. The exposure risk to employees is BS as well. There are literally 1000 ways they could keep squaw open and their employees would never have to come in contact with a single person. Online payment, different gate setup, pre schedule only, I could go on and on.....In other words they could run the place like its the year 2020 and not 1960. Personally I could care less. I hate fishing any lake that crowded, but they made a commitment to the State when that place was permitted for construction to maintain some public access to the lake. The state should make them honor that commitment.

So they should go spend a bunch of money on a park that looses money to begin with in order to modernize their process.. makes perfect sense. noidea

^^^This^^^. Plus the state and Luminate are in business together so I would have to guess Texas doesn't care about the very minor things in the agreement. ie.. fishing & recreation

GO FISH!

But that is why they went from Oct. to March was to save money. Now it is about their safety record. They do not want anyone calling in being sick or getting hurt. I mean if you stub your finger they do not want a record of it. When I worked for them back many moons ago it was that way.. The sign always had a record of how many safety days they had.. hope they repoen one day but I am not counting on it..

Slow your optimism, 2.10 lbs at best.
