Find offshore rock and depth changes and you will catch them. 15-20ft deep.

I wouldn't stay past 10-11 on a Saturday. The boat traffic is worse than JP. But I do think it fishes better pretty much any time of the year as far as numbers. Joe Pool has monsters, but they take a long time to find...

Joe pool has big fish but the average fish I catch is pretty small. It seems like the average fish caught at Grapevine are larger.

It’s sad but about every lake has been taken over by the half baked wake crowd. The sport of fishing has taken a turn for the worse when now it’s not as fun to go because of those damn boats. Katie’s woods or Dove ramps would be your best bet. GL

If you are coming in on the south side I would say Dove.. Google map location There is not a long no wake to get out. Don't expect too much on the bass fishing, but the sandbass out in deeper water is pretty good right now. Just north east of the island near dove ramp is holding some good sandbass.. Look for fish hugging the bottom on the drop in @ 28-31ft of water .. Jigging spoon.. AS for bass, think Rocks sums it up, been working in the 16-22ft range lately and bite is tough but I have been catching some pretty nice fish.. I have been doing better on the crankbait than the football jig or carolina rig. For some numbers but small bass go down to the south east marina near the Gaylord and work just off the back of boats in slips in @ 10" with a smaller size swim jig, or lightly weighted senko worm on @ 10lb line and you will get bit by a herd of dinks.

Good Luck.. Take plenty of water and some Ibuprofen because the Wake boats are a real PITA.

Had to stop fishing both lakes years ago. My boat can’t handle four foot waves. Both lakes used to be great for fishing.
